Ideation exploring scrolls, frames, colors, compositions, symbolism, and floriography. I decided on a central medallion composition with surrounding segments, scrolls, and a banner below for the text.
A gathering of images that give insight on Art Nouveau conventions, compositions, and line quality.
Colors were picked according to their meaning in the language of flowers to match each animal's symbolism. They were adjusted to act cohesively in the composition. Brown lines were selected for a softer, natural feeling for the scroll outlines.
Drawing studies were utilized to warm up and practice with subject matter before creating the final art freehand.
