Hi, I'm Lydia Krogh, an industrial designer and illustrator building a multi-disciplinary creative career. I have lived in Ithaca and Rochester, NY, but am looking to relocate and call a new city home. In Rochester, I studied at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), earning a Double BFA in Industrial Design and Illustration. I am currently looking for a full-time design or art position.
My background in product design imbued my creative ethos with a desire for interconnection, accessibility, and play. Creative expression and problem-solving are vital practices in an increasingly visual world, and design and art serve fundamental purposes in enacting the human experience. Collaboration, communication, and teamwork enormously further good design by mutualizing goals and decision making, which my experiences at Hallmark and BOCES emphasize.
Adapting to the end user's point of view is a skill inherent to design, teaching, and co-creation. My process always involves gathering guiding information via interviews, artistic research, and multiple concept generation, since being well-informed supports your ability to provide real solutions. I especially enjoy working in a nexus of disciplines where I can contribute my multiple skill sets such as surface, concept, or exhibit design, and anything with a dynamic edge to it.
My professional projects include establishing a freelance practice, exploring surface design e-commerce, and perfecting my portfolio website. My personal projects include developing a 'rococo-punk' comic, volunteering my graphic design savvy at my local swing dance scene, and pioneering an eventually-public floriography library for revitalizing the language of flowers. In my spare time, I can be found swing dancing, reading comics, and brewing yet another cup of tea.
I built this website from the ground up using Webflow's low-code platform, following best design practices as well as my personal branding and vision. Thank you to all my friends who gave their feedback throughout the process.
